We accept CDPAP so you can choose your own caregiver. Because your loved one can care for you like no one else can.
Get startedNo one can care for you like a loved one can. Choose them as your caregiver.
There's no price tag for love. Show appreciation for their care with appropriate remuneration.
With New York's Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP), you can fully control your home health care. The program allows you to select a caregiver of your choice — even a friend or a relative you know and trust.
This home care for Medicaid patients is available throughout the 62 counties of New York. It lets you create your own schedule and use your insurance-approved home care hours based on what works for you and your caregiver. Under the CDPAP, your chosen caregiver gets compensated for their hours. It's a wonderful opportunity to show appreciation for their precious time and care.

By choosing your preferred care provider, you and your loved ones can be confident that you're in good hands. Get the care you deserve from a person you trust while they get compensated for their time and effort.
Being the primary caregiver for a physically disabled or chronically ill individual can be challenging. CDPAP ensures your chosen care provider gets fair compensation every week. It helps you feel better knowing they get paid for their valuable work in caring for you. It also eases the financial burden on family members who might have to quit their full-time work to take care of their loved ones.
Seeing a familiar face helps immensely when you're physically struggling with your illness. Take your mind off your health concerns by spending time with a person you know and love. It's easier than meeting and adjusting to a new care provider.
Home CDPAP services empower you by giving you full control of your health care. You have complete responsibility for choosing and training your caregiver and you can direct them and plan their hours as you wish.
“When I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, I was assigned aides to help me with every day tasks. As my situation deteriorated and COVID hit, I was very concerned to have strangers come into my home. My daughter quit her job and comes to my house every single day to care for me! Between her and my G-d son, I am well taken care of.
I am so grateful they both get paid to care for me. It makes this diagnosis a little bit easier. The silver lining is the time I spend each day with my daughter and G-d son. A special thank you to Attending Home Care for their stellar service in ensuring everything goes smooth each day.”

Interested in getting friends and family home care CDPAP services? Here's what you need to know:
Any individual with a physical disability or chronic illness that requires them to need home care services is eligible for CDPAP — regardless of their age. Under the program, you can have a family member or a friend be your caregiver. CDPAP is a Medicaid program. If you or your family member doesn't have Medicaid, we can help you get onboarded.
Your caregiver will be in charge of improving your quality of life by assisting you in your activities of daily living, such as feeding, bathing, toileting, dressing and grooming. Your chosen care provider can also help with house cleaning and transportation for your medical appointments.
CDPAP guidelines also authorize your caregiver to assist with medical needs. This may include wound dressing, medicine administration, giving injections, tube feeding and tracheostomy care.
CDPAP patients are free to choose any individual aged 18 and above as their primary caregiver, provided that the individual can legally work in the U.S. and is not the patient's legal spouse. Patients under 18 also can't choose their parents as the caregiver. You can contact us for more information on the CDPAP guidelines.
CDPAP allows you to choose a family member, a friend and pretty much anyone within your community to be your caregiver. You also have the option to post an ad on various platforms, or you can contact a certified CDPAP agency like Attending Home Care for assistance in hiring a qualified caregiver.
CDPAP rules don't require the caregiver to be a licensed professional or specially trained in home health care. However, they do need to be capable of assisting with your daily requirements. You're also free to train and direct them in how they can perform their tasks properly to meet your specific needs according to your physician's orders.
Attending Home Care has a competitive compensation and benefits package for care providers, which follows guidelines from the Health and Labor departments. Note that CDPAP is available throughout New York State, but rates vary depending on your location.
